Rafa Munárriz was born in Tudela in 1990 and currently lives between Madrid and São Paulo.

He completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts studies at the Complutense University of Madrid after having studied with international exchanges at the ABK Stuttgart University in Germany, at the SAIC University in Chicago and at the University of São Paulo in Brazil. Studies a Postgraduate program in Contemporary Artistic Practices at the FAAP of São Paulo.

It is selected in various calls, highlighting First Phase DKV 2019, Injuve, Encuentros de Navarra, Interreaction, Lateral Art, Intransit or the Botín Foundation scholarship. He exposes his work continuously in institutions such as La Casa Encencida, Tabacalera or Sala de Arte Jóven in Madrid; Centro Botín, BilbaoArte, Laboral Art Center, Huarte Center, MUN or Casal Solleric in the rest of the national territory. Outside of Spain, he has exhibited at Casa do Povo, Ateliê 397, Breu, MAB FAAP, Redbull Station, Galeria Pilar and Sancovski; Sullivan Galleries in Chicago or Mumok in Vienna among others. Exhibits individually in the galleries Eva Ruiz and Nogueras Blanchard (intermission) of Madrid; Galleria Macca of Cagliari and Galeria Pelaires. Participates in the PIESP Independent Program led by Adriano Pedrosa at Escola São Paulo in 2013-2014. He makes several residences as the one in El Ranchito del Matadero and those located in São Paulo: PIVÔ Pesquisa, FAAP Artistic Residences and Redbull Station.
