About Tony Oursler (New York, 1957) View artist profile >>

Well known for his video projections and installations, Oursler explores the effects of technology on human minds. He analyzes the compulsive relation between humans and their computers and social networks. His works show surrealistic scenes such as a speaking streetlight, a dollar bill with an animated Abraham Lincoln or a big mobile phone speaking randomly. His main goal is to show the obsession and loneliness caused by this technologic dependence. Oursler also remarks that even the most incredible ideas can be believed if they are presented with certain seduction tools. He just had a solo show at the the MoMA , "Impoderable".
