About Joan Brossa (Barcelona, 1919) View artist profile >>

Brossa is a catalan poet and artist. He co-founded the "Dau al Set" group together with Antoni Tapies, Modest Cuixart and Joan Ponç, among others. His plastic production is characterised by prasing ordinary objects to the category of art, making poetry with that object and generating the well knonw "Object Poetries". Great museums like the Reina Sofia in Madrid or the Miro Foundation in Barcelona have had restrospective exhibitions of his work. A solo show has recently been hold at the MACBA in Barcelona. Brossa has been internationally recognized and is considered one of the fathers of the "Visual poetry" movement that has influenced many younger generations, such as the photographer Chema Madoz.
