About Sandra Rocha (Angra do Heroísmo, Azores, Portugal, 1974) View artist profile >>

Sandra Rocha is a photographer born in 1974, in Angra do Heroísmo, from the archipelago of the Azores (Portugal), but living in Paris, Ile-de-France. Her works reflect the problems of femininity, territory and identity. Inhabited by young women, strange animals and landscapes, his work is a dreamlike universe that gives us a poetic and mysterious reflection on the identity, territory and relationships of the people who occupy it.

Widely disseminated and published, his work has been exhibited in prestigious venues such as the Gulbenkian Museum in Lisbon and Paris; the MAS / Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Santander and Cantabria, in Spain; the Museum of the Image, in Braga, Portugal; the contemporary art gallery Fonseca Macedo (Azores) and the Alarcón Criado gallery (Spain).

In addition, his work is now part of European public and private collections, such as the EDP Foundation (Portugal), BES Art Collection (Portugal), Government of the Azores, the Northern Collection of the Government of Cantabria (Spain) and the Art Fair of Vigo (Spain).
