About Patricia Camet (New York, ) View artist profile >>

Camet is mostly known for her famous “Huacamets”, hybrid sculptures created from waste materials that combine plastic bottles, glasses etc, and packages made of paperboard and polystyrene. This works pretend to reflect the mass consumer society that generates daily waste, and they also make reference to the pre-Columbian past of the Peruvian Huacos, whom used to represent daily life through portraits, animals, fruits etc made of ceramics. In her most recent works Patricia recovers pre-Columbian techniques such as ceramics and glass enamel.
