In his work, Jordi Bernadó questions whether the images he creates are a true representation of reality, or if they are just a means of deceiving onlookers. The images he presents to us, even with their great resemblance to reality, are still chosen by the artist, thus ceasing to be "real" — instead becoming a transformation or reinvention of themselves. It is the viewer who must discover what is real in his photographs.
Philarthropic: art with a social purpose
All the profits generated from the sale of these works will go towards renovating and personalizing the bedrooms in a Residential Educational Center for at-risk minors in Barcelona (CRAE, for its acronym in Spanish). The young residents will bring their own designs to life with the help of mural artists and photographers.
Thanks to these individual sessions with the artists, these teenagers will have a chance to bring warmth and individual personality to a place in which they live, a space in which they also feel contained. These workshops aim to encourage creativity, providing participants with the necessary skills to autonomously continue in their exploration of art as a means of healthy expression. Learn more here.
