He is an essential artist of the contemporary catalan culture, well known for his large format paintings using geometric figures and repetitions, as well as a sequence of shapes whose intention is to transmit its authenticity, accuracy and mastery on the technique. In his work, drawing and painting are the same, since both are located within the limits of the experience. Chancho sees the geometric structures as living systems that develop. Already in the 70’s he formed part of a group of artists formed by Soledad Sevilla, Gerardo Delgado, Carlos León and Jordi Teixidor, saving painting from the lack of control of abstract expressionism and also from minimalism. The control he shows in his paintings, very rare in contemporary painting, is a notable characteristic of his style.
