Jordi Socías is self-taught. Curiosity, intuition, reading and friends have been replacing other ways of acquiring knowledge and sensitivity. His career began in Cambio 16, in 1972. He has worked in agencies, in satirical, political and cultural magazines such as Madrid me mata and El Europeo. He was one of the founders of Cinemania and the photography agency Cover. He joined the newspaper El País in 1997. Movie film photographer (Josefina Molina, Manuel Gutiérrez Aragón, David Trueba, José Luis Cuerda ...).
His first exhibition took place in 1979, at the Spectrum Gallery in Barcelona. Throughout his career, he has exhibited in galleries, art centres, museums and institutions such as La Caixa de Barcelona, the Spanish Museum of Contemporary Art, the Villa Cultural Center, the Fine Arts Circle, the Fundación Telefónica and the National Museum Reina Sofía of Madrid, at the Andalusian Photography Center in Almería, and internationally at the Cervantes Institute in Vienna, Rome, Krakow and Belgrade. Also in galleries such as La Fábrica, Fernando Pradilla, Ivory Press, Ana Arambarri and Fernández-Braso.
