About Fernando Sinaga (Zaragoza, 1951) View artist profile >>

Fernando Sinaga belongs to the generation of sculptors that emerged in the eighties in Spain whose work connects with concerns where the perception and experience of the spectator are part of his aesthetic discourse.

Time and space are essential categories in the conception of his works along with chance and destiny. His sculptural work intersects the textual with the rigor of his material and formal research –Sinaga is Professor of Sculpture at the University of Salamanca– and his writings and interviews have been published on the occasion of his exhibition Zona, at the Domus Artium in Salamanca.

In addition, Sinaga is one of the Spanish artists that has reflected the most on public art, performing different institutional projects such as Spectral Screens on the Ebro on the occasion of the International Exhibition of Zaragoza in 2008 or The retinal chill for the City of Arts and Sciences of Valencia in 2000. His sculptural work has been the subject of major exhibitions such as La estancia inhóspita, IVAM, 2005 and IDEAS K, MUSAC, 2012 and his work is represented in the collections of the main public and private Spanish and international institutions such as the MNCARS, the IVAM and the Kunstsammlung der Ruhr-Universität in Bochum, Germany.
