About Massimo Bartolini (Cecina, Italy, 1962) View artist profile >>

Using various materials and techniques, including sculpture, performance and photography, Bartolini creates evocative spaces and anti-monumental sculptures. Bartolini’s atmospheric installations often elicit physical reactions that evolve a bodily awareness, stimulating viewers’ imaginative capacity rather than commanding their active participation. His work has been shown as part of the Nordic & Danish Pavillion at the 53rd Venice Biennale in 2009, as well as in the Italian Pavilion of the 55th Venice Biennale in 2013.
