After a period of time in Paris, Favre moved to Berlin, where she lives and works since 1998. She first started working as a set designer and actress at the theatre in Paris, and soon turned into her painting practice. Her work shows very fresh narratives and conceptual perspectives, moving between figuration and abstraction, and is dominated by a world made of contradictions and contrasts. She is very experimental in her creative and intellectual process and there are lots of references to art history. One of her central issues is the suicide, since she loves the possibility of choosing which subjects to talk about and finds interesting the fact that in Western-European society we are not allowed to choose our end.
Favre’s work has been exhibited internationally, having been shown even at museums such the Centre Georges Pompidou, in Paris.
