Hévia's work explores the different forms of intimacy and the different ways of expressing the contemporary individual through video and photography. The artist understands intimacy as something extraordinary hence, his artworks suggest diverse dialogues regarding the public and private sphere. His pieces nurture from the concept of memory and the possible alterations it might go through due to objects like diaries and photographs. Through the use of poetic imagery, he invites the audience to take part of the creation process and explore their own memory and its ability to fiction reality.
Raul Hevia’s most recent exhibition M.U.S.E.A was on view at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Santander (2014). The installation intended to question and analyze the content and form of artistic objects. In addition, during the last years, his work has been shown at several artfairs such as ARCO Madrid and ARTBO Bogotá.
