Forteza’s artistic production stands out for its planes rich in monochromatic, darkness, watercolour and organic strokes aiming to express vitality. Nowadays, the most important aspect of his work is the idea of presenting different expressions in the same space in order to create confrontation between different concepts. In his most recent work, Forteza works employ colour as his main element but still being able to suggest the same feeling conveyed in his previous, more austere pieces. In his composition images slide on the medium and end up crystallizing on the surface.
He’s had solo exhibitions in galleries and museums Joan Miró Foundation, The State Russian Museum in Saint Petersburg, Kunst Station Sankt Peter in Cologne among many others, and more recently at Es Baluard Contemporary Art Museum in Mallorca. His work is part of collections like MoMA New York, Centro Nacional de Arte Reina Sofia Madrid and the Centre Pompidou Paris.
