Mont explores in his work, from a total formal perspective, the limits of paint as he’s extremely interested in the way its used and treated. During the eighties, he worked on the density of paint aiming to convey three-dimensional compositions. Later he will increase the surface of his pieces so they’ll merge together with the space they are displayed. In his Coppérations series, the artist’s gesture becomes the fundamental pillar of the piece. Paint brushstrokes and a collage of different materials grab the audience’s attention towards the entire creative process.
In 2015, the Suñol Foundation curated It’s never enough: a solo exhibition where Mont displayed his most recent work. Nowadays, several of his artworks are included in private collections such as in ‘La Caixa’, the Barrié Foundation as well as the Spanish Bank private collection.
