Javier Arbizu, born in Estella in 1984, is an artist, curator and cultural manager based in Bilbao. He has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Salamanca and a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) from the San Francisco Art Institute in San Francisco, California.

He has received the Fulbright, Vicente and García Corselas scholarships from the University of Salamanca, Mario Antolin from the BMW Painting Prizes and Erasmus for the realization of an exchange course at the Kunsthochschule Kassel in Germany. He has realized the residences Blue Project Foundation in Barcelona, ​​Kulturabteilung Vorarlberg - Kunsthaus in Bregenz Austria, Bilbao Arte in Bilbao and Open Space in Kassel Germany.

He has been awarded the first Guasch Coranty, Unpublished of the Casa Encendida, Anne Bremer Memorial Price of the San Francisco Art Institute and Murphy and Cadogan Award of the San Francisco Art Foundation among others.

He has shown his work at Volta Basel, Scope Miami Beach, Santander Art, the Huarte Contemporary Art Center in Pamplona, ​​Da2 in Salamanca, the Lisi Hämmerle galleries in Bregenz Austria, Ángeles Baños in Badajoz, Michel Mejuto in Bilbao and the Diego Gallery Rivera and SOMArts in San Francisco.
