AnaMary Bilbao is a portuguese-Spanish artist born in Sintra, Portugal i 1986. She studied Painting and Cinema / Moving image at Ar.Co and is a PhD student in Artistic Studies – Art and Mediations (FCSH – Universidade Nova de Lisboa and Birkbeck – University of London) with an FCT scholarship. In 2014, Bilbao was distinguished in the category of Visual Arts by CPAI – Clube Português de Artes e Ideias.

Bilbao presented the solo shows O último brilho da estrela que morre at UMA LULIK__ (2018); Fallacious Memory at Caroline Pagès Gallery (2014) and Presente passado at Boavista Gallery (2013). Selected group shows in which Bilbao participated: A Guerra Como Modo de Ver, MACE – Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Elvas (2018); Arte em São Bento – António Cachola Collection, Palácio de São Bento (2018); O Tempo inscrito. Memória, Hiato e Projecção – Works of Figueiredo Ribeiro Contemporary Art Collection, quARTel (2017); Correspondências Lisboa-Barcelona, Carpe Diem – Arte e Pesquisa and Espai Mallorca Barcelona (2015); On Drawing II, Cristina Guerra Contemporary Art Gallery (2014).

Her work is represented in the national public collections Coleção António Cachola, Coleção de Arte Contemporânea Figueiredo Ribeiro, Fundação Leal Rios and Mu.Sa - CMS and in private collections in Portugal, Germany, Brazil, Spain, France and England. AnaMary Bilbao is nominated to the 13th Edition of EDP Foundation’s New Artists Award 2019.
