Alex Lebus’s work developes around spatial installation and wall objects mainly. In her artistic exploration, the use of mirrors is key, using mirrors as a pictorical material. Through the mirrors Lebus creates reflections, which despite not being the objective of her work represent the means for formulating questions. By all these reflections, Alex reverses what is familiar and expected, throwing the viewer back to herself and challenging perception by creating new perspectives, playing with the ambiguous and questionable, with contradiction and ambivalence. She challenges the viewer questioning what is truth or lie, fiction or reality, unmasking the obvious.
Another key means to Lebus work is text, by choosing words that open the debate on fundamental questions of existence.
